five little things

peas-please (as he rubs his heart)

Five little things.
All of Jonas's non sign language vocabulary.
They sound so sweet, as they twist from his wee rippled lips.

acrostic poem of hope

...and in the words of our 44th President,
here is to"...ushering in a new era of peace."
As we were watching the inauguration,
Eoghan took a picture of "our new President, Obama".

toys AND books

our library

I have been aware of the toy testing for a while, as I am wondering what will happen in the near future with my doll making. This makes me so upset, as I cannot think of independent toy makers putting lead in their toys! The whole idea, is to make natural and healthy toys for our children and our earth. As for books? I am also a librarian, need I say more? Well I will, it makes me sick!!!!

American families need libraries now more than ever, as everyone knows the state our economy is in. A family may visit their library and in doing so, they will have access to gobs of goodness. Books, magazines, music, games, movies, internet access to visit with friends and family nation wide and internationally, story time for young children, programs for every age, information galore, a place to just be together. A family or individual has access to all of this for how much? $0.00 That sounds good to me.

Below is a link with more information and how you can help.

uno, dos, tres, CO

chocolate, chocolate,
bate bate, el chocolate!

This is a chant we use as we mix by hand, but who says we can't chant as the KitchenAid whirs? I know...we probably don't need it for cookie dough, but it was a Christmas gift and I really, really like it.

We are shepherds and we sing of lots of jolly things.
We can dance and we can shout. We can wave our caps about.
The stars shine above us, the snow shines below
and we are so happy in this wondrous glow.

the little things

I awoke in the middle of the night to feed Jonas and I had a ball of sadness in my stomach, with the feeling that another year has sneaked past us yet again. And so, I began to search my mind for the significant events that have happened, during this time that has gone by. Nothing huge popped into my head, however many small images began to tumble forward.

5 little things Jonas loved last year:
Splashing in puddles, "fixing" any mechanical object especially the vacuum, long bubble baths, eating freshly fallen snow, and having people smell his feet and then pretend to throw up.

5 little things Eoghan loved last year:
Playing in water, being a dinosaur, having friends over to play, getting to walk to places on his own, and amusement park rides.

5 little things about my boys, that I was so fortunate to enjoy last year:
Burying my face in fuzzy baby hair first thing in the morning, listening to all the different wee voices Eoghan makes for his toy animals and people (when he thinks I'm not listening), smiles with teeth coming in and teeth falling out, being able to sing Eoghan to sleep, and nursing Jonas while looking at his sweet contented face.

It's all about the little things isn't it?

Happy New Year!

¡Prospero Año Nuevo!
